Portfolio Resources -
For my portfolio I have a lot of work. As I worked as designer for year at Rottweiler Productions, the work I did here added to my freelance and personal projects will make up a decent sided portfolio. Work from one of my personal projects what was a rebrand for Chairsman's resever shows my diversity in my work as i haven't done a rebrand before. I also have a lot of photography what I will use from when I've done for my Alevel and as hobby.
Finance -
I've applied for a a student loan. I will get £8,000 as manentice loan, after paying for my accommodations I will Have £62 left for food a week. However, as I have a part time job and can transfer to Leeds I will get £7.75 a hour work 16 hours a week on average, will give me a extra £124 a week. This leaves me with £186 a week with is more than enough to live off.
Contacts -
Through going to college at the UTC in Sheffield I have also gained different work with employers and industry professionals. I have presented to Sumo Digital on a project. I have also had the opportunity to present my work to Nick Baxter of the human studios who gave a useful insight into the graphic design industry. These different projects have given me different experiences working with the same company and also meeting people in the industry to gain contacts. Through different contacts and networking I have contacts to different graphic design companies.
Support -
Using friends and family I made a cv which helped apply for the job I do now. From this job have mades good friends from my colleges, some of these have finished or currently attending university. From their advice and my families I made a education choice about going to Leeds Beckett University.
Equipment -
If I was to start my own business for graphical design and photography, I currently have a lot of equipment what you would be essential. The dream however would be to upgrade my current MacBook Pro to new MacBook Pro and also would have a MacPro for a home setup. I only have basic graphics tablet at the moment but I would change this
SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats)
I believe that I have good qualities that will help me with my transition into higher education or employment, I believe that I am a very hard-working and motivated individual that will help me to complete tasks to the best of my ability. I like to think that I am able to adapt to most situations so that I can complete any task no matter the circumstances. I also believe that I have good social skills thanks to my past work-experience and also being in a college environment and this could help with working with other people or communicating with customers as well as helping me in interview situations as I could convey my points well. I am also a very creative person and enjoy practical work. I enjoy the creative side of media such as graphics and photography, and the editing of my work in order to create a final piece that I am proud of. I love coming up with new ideas and trying new things in order to create exciting work. I believe that I am very organised and can manage my time effectively.
A weakness that I do have is that I do not vocalize my thoughts in teams as much as I should, I need to be more confident in offering my opinions and what decisions should be made. I also feel that I need to be more assertive at putting myself forward for leadership positions and try and be confident with having the responsibility. There are loads of opportunities around me such as jobs and university courses. My desire is to go to uni and get a bachelor diploma.
Opportunities to Showcase Work -
UTC has provider me with opportunities presenting my Unit 32 ideas to Nix Baxter and unit 60 to Sumo digital. These were good opportunities as they were professionals critiquing my work which only allows me to improve. However, they gave me good feedback which is positive for the meeting I had
